It was great while it lasted

This dishwasher is quiet, cleans well and holds a lot! If only it lasted longer than 6 years. After getting the E15 error code, we had a repairman take a look and he found that the tub had cracked and it was irreparable. I called Bosch and after 6 weeks of waiting, was told that they would give me 50% off the cost of a new one. We paid 800$ 6 years ago, and the comparable model today is 1000$ so we have to pay 500$ which is very frustrating.

Quiet and Clean with a few Hiccups

At first we really loved our Bosh diswasher. It is still super quiet after 6 years and does get the dishes clean. However we noticed it doesn't drain well and get a foul smell every so often. I do keep up on cleaning the filters etc. Also just recently our bottom rack falls off the track when its about 1/2 full.

Leaks

After getting an E15 error code, I looked under the dishwasher and saw that the diverter assembly was leaking. I purchased a replacement and installed the diverter assembly. Turned it on and no leaking from the assembly. However, I didn't notice that there was also water coming from the back of the dishwasher that runs down the channel under the drain hose and flows towards the styrofoam disk in the center. I cannot discover where this leak is coming from as it's not the drain hose (no leaks) and it's not the incoming hose and nothing is visibly dripping from anywhere. Since it's along the back of the interior base of the dishwasher, it must be coming from a leak in the seal of the inside back of the dishwasher. That part is not replaceable--it appears to be a manufacturing defect as others have had the same problem. Bosch should be aware of this defect so that it doesn't happen in other models. I will not purchase a Bosch again if this cannot be fixed. Very disappointed. The dishwasher is only 6 years old and already dead :(

6 Years and 4 months - Have had to replace pump, rack, and now the REAR Seal is leaking and being told the DISHWASHER IS NOT FIXABLE and must be replaced. All I read is Bosch is the best (Well if it was, it would last longer than this) - Rack is warrantied for 5 years - both rusted out at 5-1/2 years and the wheel fell off bottom rack - Bosch doesn't leak (Nope). Quiet - Was Quiet when it ran, now it is REAL QUIET - since it died! (Note - Pump goes out when water leaks from rear seal). Yup, Dishwasher dies when the pump gets wet. Very disappointed in the fine quality Bosch Dishwasher that we purchased.

Love this dishwasher

I needed a dishwasher STAT, and luckily this one was in stock at teh time. I am so glad I got the cutlery tray option. At first I wondered why I bothered, but I quickly found that it gave me so much more room on the bottom rack because I was able to remove the cutlery basket. I never use it, and I love teh extra space to fill in dishes. It has run reliably and I like its notifications when teh dry aid is empty, for example. I like the variety of cycles, though I admit I almost always use the Automatic. The machine is super quiet, and the filter is easy to clean. I am glad the salesperson told me about the filter - I had never had one in a dishwasher up to that point. The Express cycle is great when I am in a big hurry. I've been so happy with this purchase - it is going to be five years old in August and I hope it lasts for 15+ years!

Cracked housing

This dishwasher developed a crack in the cabinet housing causing an error code. We had hoped there would be a fix of some sort but the tech said there was nothing he could do. How very disappointing. Bosch has offered no comment. Not a worn piece from use but a crack in the very foundation of the cabinet. This purchase was in the high end with a stainless interior it cleaned the dishes ok. Not very impressed. Would probably not purchase it a second time.

Does not last and clean properly

I am unhappy with this Bosch diswasher that I HAVE had for only 5 1/2 years. Got error code E09 which is the heating element. Had technicial come to diagnose he said parts would close $300-$600 This was an expensivve appliance and for it to last less than 15 years give a bad name to Bosch. Now I will have to shell out $$$ to find a new dishwasher OTHER than Bosch

We purchased this dishwasher about 5 years ago and mechanicaly it has worked has it should. I like the 3 tier rack system, options. My only disappointment is there is rust on some joints. Bosch is great appliance and I would buy again.

Good Product Turned BAD Due to Cheap Parts

Purchased in 2013 and I was very pleased until one door spring snapped. Paid technician to evaluate and he was honest enough to check whether the spring support was still intact. He found it to be cracked because it was made of plastic that had reached the end of its lifetime. A repair would have involved removing motor, etc., costing about $300, while a quality spring support could have reduced this to under $100. Very disappointed as this dishwasher should be good for many more years!

Bosch 500 series dishwasher a good buy

I purchased the dishwasher 4 years ago. Our family has on average been going thru them every 2-3 years. This one has outdone prior Samsung models. Since we bought it we had to replace the inlet valve once and that was about it. It saved my kitchen from flooding thanks to its great flood safety system. I like Bosch products and will likely buy more in the future.

Rusty Rack

I have tried to contact Bosch about this problem but their 1800 number is impossible to reach. I have called several times at different times of the day to get ahold of them. Each time I waiting at least 30 min and sometimes longer before hanging up. I have emailed them now 10 times and provided all the documentation that they asked for. The problem is that you get a new person responding to your emails or claim and they act like they never received the information from your previous email. Extremely disorganized and unhelpful. The warranty is about as reliable as the dish rack. I thought spending more on a dishwasher meant that you would get a quality product and service. Bosch has proven otherwise.

Great dishwasher, with some minor flaws

We've had our Bosch for five years now, and it's still going strong. It's just slightly noisier than when new, but still very quiet. The plastic handle has broken in several places, but is easy to replace and I have new handle waiting for me to get around to it. The power connector is a problem: if you search the internet, you will find that the hot lead tends to burn out over time. After four years, it wouldn't turn on. I had to open up the junction box, cut off a length, strip and reconnect. A relatively easy and cheap fix.

Second broken dishwasher

I got my first version of this dishwasher 4 years ago and it ended up needing to by replaced because of an issue that could not be fixed . The dishwasher was replaced and now two years later I am back in the same boat .

This is the best dishwasher that I had. I changed the previous one because I bend the door and the cost to replace it was almost half of the cost of a new (and no guarantee that will fix it), but I decided for the same model because of the noise level (you dont even know that it is working).

Bosch 500 doing a good job for over 3 years!

We bought this dishwasher about 3 years ago and it has treated us well. Dishes are clean and it is very quiet. The low noise level was a huge improvement over out last dishwasher. The only thing that has cropped up is that the door shows some rust. We live in Florida which is extra humid, but that said I was surprised to see rust on a stainless steel dishwasher.

Quiet and effective - with the right detergent

Our Bosch dishwasher replaced an old, noisy unit. The Bosch is so quiet, you have to liste very hard or look for the indicator light to know it is on! And it does a great job as long as you use something like Cascade Platinum dishwashing packets. Everything comes out spotless! Just a bit of complaint - you have to read the manual to know how to interrupt or restart a cycle; many times for us, we have turned it on only to have it run for 20 minutes without dispensing detergent - a partial cycle -- even though the time indicated a full duration at the beginning.
